The Institution has just accredited the Professional Diploma in Civil Engineering Surveying at the Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education. The course meets the academic requirements for Technical Membership of the Institution. Diploma holders with three years surveying experience will be able to apply for ICES Technical Membership. President's Medal Awarded
Congratulations to Bert Palmer FInstCES, a longstanding active and passionate member of the Institution on his award of the ICES president’s medal. Bert became the first ever recipient of the medal — an award given to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the Institution — which was presented at the 2006 Institution Dinner by outgoing president, John Bacon. Bert has been a member of the Institution since 1980 and, as honorary secretary, remains heavily involved with the ICES today, particularly within the ET&M Committee and SURCO.
