New ICES Company Training Scheme
Raymond Brown Construction Ltd has received confirmation that the Institution has approved the Company's training scheme for quantity surveyors.

The Institution actively encourages companies who employ civil engineering surveyors to adopt an ICES Approved Training Scheme, which can be tailored to meet the training requirements of each company's training policy.

This particular ICES Approved Training Scheme has been designed specifically for quantity surveyors employed by Raymond Brown Construction Ltd, who have offices in Hampshire, Kent and Oxfordshire, and is intended to assist with an employees progression towards Corporate Membership of the Institution.

In order to become a Corporate Member of the Institution, candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have suitable qualifications and experience to gain this professional qualification.

A series of Training Guidelines have been prepared by the Institution, to offer guidance on the training and experience requirements and standards expected from a candidate for the Corporate Member grade application. Guidelines have been prepared for both commercial management and geospatial engineering specialists.

Under these Training Guidelines, candidates applying for the Corporate Member grade would be expected to satisfy a range of training and experience objectives, as set out in the Institution's Core Training Objectives. These Core Training Objectives form the basis of all ICES Approved Training Schemes such as the scheme now adopted by Raymond Brown Construction Ltd.

Barry Hubbard, Commercial Director of Raymond Brown Construction Ltd comments on the mutually rewarding benefits of the new training scheme:

"Raymond Brown is committed to flexibility in this training scheme. It is recognised that the scheme will assist in the development of a core knowledge and achievement common for all potential quantity surveyors within the Company. This will enable Raymond Brown trainees to demonstrate their ability to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to the required standard.

We are delighted that our training scheme has received recognition and approval from the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. We believe that this scheme will offer many mutually rewarding benefits for our employees, the Company, the ICES and the industry as a whole."

Once an employee has successfully completed this ICES Approved Training Scheme, they will participate in a Training Review and receive a Completion Certificate from Raymond Brown Construction Ltd.

This training scheme has been awarded approval for a five-year period, which will be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that it continues to satisfy the standards set by the Institution and meets the training requirements of Raymond Brown Construction Ltd.
