The Health and Safety Working Group is responsible for informing members of the basic requirements in respect of health and safety legislation through the provision of appropriate training courses and regular articles in the Institution's journal and other specialist publications.

The group is also convened to ensure that appropriate health and safety information is made available to the Institution's employees, to advise other ICES core committees and the Council of Management in matters of health and safety and to provide representation to relevant external organisations.

The Institution adopts a health and safety policy, which is implemented by the Council of Management for the benefit of its members, employees, contractors and other stakeholders.
