Health and Safety Awareness
Synopsis:
An understanding of health and safety legislation and site hazards
is essential to all involved in the construction industry. The Major Contractors
Group has realised the importance of this and are insisting that all persons
working on site should hold a CSCS card of the relevant type to cover their
field of work. this course aims to provide the basic health and safety knowledge
required and to assist those preparing for the Health and Safety Test in Construction.

One Day 0900 - 1700hrs
Course Level:
Anyone involved in any aspect of construction work be it design,
project management, site supervision or on the tools. The better the mix the
greater chance for lively discussion and the chance to learn from each other's
experience

Steve Haycock MInstCES MaPS MIIRSM NEBOSH (General and Construction Certificates)
Steve has worked in the construction industry since 1972. He has been involved
in housing, industrial building, tunnelling, highways and water industry related
projects as technician, clerk of works, site agent and QS. He has also worked
as health and safety manager with a construction company and is now director
of CDM Consulting Ltd, providing planning supervisor services, health and
safety consultancy and project management services. Steve also provides training
in construction health and safety and assesses and internally verifies NVQs
in confined spaces, streetworks qualifictions and other construction related
subjects. Steve is assistant secretary of the north west CDM Duty holders
support group.
