The
Principles of the Manual of Contract Documents
for Highway Works
Synopsis:
The Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works, first published
in 1992, consists of several parts which include the administrative procedures
for its use, the Specification for Highway Works and its corresponding Method
Measurement. The Manual, which has been updated several times since it was
first published, incorporates the requirements of the European Commission
which are mandatory for all Public Procurement Bodies. As the manual is the
premier document for highway projects nationally and its use is compulsory
on all highway contracts with a Highways Agency involvement it is essential
that it is understood by those professionals involved in the preparation of
contract documents and contract management. The purpose of this training course
is therefore to conduct an in-depth examination of the manual and the implications
on measurement and tendering procedures. The course will include reference
