The Method of Measurement for Highway Works (MMHW)
Synopsis:
The
Department of Transport's Method of Measurement for Highway Works has been
published in several editions over the last 30 years with the 4th edition
being published in 1992 as part of the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway
Works. The MMHW is integral with the Specification for Highway Works and therefore
it is essential to understand this relationship, the principles behind the
Method and the basis of its use in the preparation of Bills of Quantities
if contractual disputes are to be avoided. The purpose of this training course
is to study in detail the background to the MMHW, its relationship to other
