An
Introduction to the Highways Agency Design and
Build Form of Contract
Synopsis:
After
using the ICE Conditions of Contract for many years on their roads projects
the Department of Transport introduced their own Design and Build form of
contract. This radical contract, which has been developed from trial contracts
in the early 1990s i.e. A35 Yellowham Hill, is intended to replace the more
traditional contract. It is therefore essential for all professionals, from
every side of the industry, who will be involved in using this form of contract
to have an understanding of its application and the unique features it contains.
The purpose of this training course is therefore to study in depth, with delegate
participation, the procedures involved in the preparation and administration
of a highway project using this form of contract.
