EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
There are many paths towards becoming a fully qualified member of the ICES. The construction industry remains one of the most flexible in the opportunities it can offer. Young people can study at the same time as working, by attending college part time or by working towards an NVQ qualification. Alternatively they can attend university or college for a full time or sandwich course and then rise quickly through membership of ICES. ICES accredited degrees offer the most straightforward route to Corporate Membership. Other related degree courses and certain level 4 and 5 NVQ qualifications may also give exemption from the Institution's Corporate Entry Assessment, depending on their course content. Other qualifications, such as HND, HNC and other NVQs may be appropriate for the Technical grade and these members will then need to take the Corporate Entry Assessment in order to progress to Member grade.
