27 January 2009: How good is Network RTK GPS - actually? Dept of Geography & Earth Sciences, Glasgow University, 7pm for 7.30pm
Dr Stuart Edwards will present an examination of commercial network RTK GPS services in Great Britain, that has recently been carried out on behalf of The Survey Association, Ordnance Survey, Leica Geosystems, Trimble and RICS by Newcastle University. The talk is to give us an insight into the coverage of the study, an explanation of its findings and resulting recommendations for the use of Network RTK. The event is free and tea and coffee will be served before the talk. Non members are also welcome to attend, so bring a colleague. Download flyer.
27 February 2009: Scottish Geomatics — Geomatics working for climate change, Hunter Hall, Glasgow University
A one day conference organised by ICES, looking at how geospatial information is playing a critical role in decision making driven by climate change. A number of speakers will discuss how different mapping and modelling applications are being used across multiple sectors and how they are being integrated with other specialist areas of knowledge.
