Management & Risk Management in the Construction Process

The Process Network
is pleased to announce the date for their fifth workshop considering
Facilities and Risk in the construction industry project life cycle.
The day will include breakout sessions and speakers:
Prof.
Rachel Cooper; principal investigator for the Process Network considers
Facilities Management and its impacts upon the Construction Industries
Stakeholder Groups.
The Centre for Facilities Managements' Ms Margaret Nelson will
discuss how Facilities Management supports the business needs and how
construction answers to these needs and adds value to it.
Dr Geoff Gidley, chairman of the British Institute of Facilities
Management (BIFM) will introduce the European Qualification Framework
for Facilities Management: The qualifications will be adapted to address
change and demands in the future business and public services sectors
and educate professionals and managers to work in the European Union.
Working to the highest standards respecting the local environment.
Dr Dilanthi Anaratunga will then introduce SPICE FM - a model
that assesses the capabilities of the FM processes. Allowing operational
capabilities to FM strategies. She will discuss the Balance scorecard
and FM considering case studies and process improvement.
Mr John Hudson from the School of Construction & Property
Management will discuss recent research on the application of the sustainable
development agenda in facilities management. Following this he will
lead a short breakout session on the management of social and environmental
risk from the facilities management perspective.
Risk in the Construction Process - Dr Adam Greene of Thames Water
will consider the development of their risk management common processes
from both a project and organisational objective; including identification,
assessment and management processes and their project delivery impact.
The
day is a free event sponsored by the Engineering and Physical Sciences
Research Council (EPSRC), starting at 9:30 a.m. with tea & coffee
and finishing at 3:45 p.m. Lunch is provided.
