Guidance for Adjudicators and Design Quality Indicators
The Construction Umbrella Bodies (CUB) Adjudication Task Group has recently published Guidance for Adjudicators. This publication is the result of a review by the CUB Adjudication Task Group of the legislation that came into force in May 1998. The results of the review found that there was a call for greater clarification of key contentious areas of the adjudication processes. Guidance for Adjudicators was produced as a result, after a lengthly consultation process, and aims to achieve clarification and offer advice to adjudicators on the practical steps open to them to make the process a smooth and successful one.

The Design Quality Indicator is an assessment methodology to evaluate the design quality of buildings. The development of the DQI has been led by the CIC, with sponsorship from the DTI, CABE and Rethinking Construction. It has been developed for building users and visitors, and practitioners engaged in the commissioning, design, planning, production and management of the built environment.
