Adjudication
in Action

Synopsis:
The course will take the form of a series of interrelated lecture
modules, interspersed with training workshops and exercises, each designed
to illustrate the course content, reinforce the key points and stimulate
a practical approach to dealing with adjudication.
The course is designed to provide the delegates with an understanding
of the circumstances under which they have a statutory right to seek adjudication,
how to instigate and manage the process and some of the potential pitfalls
they need to be aware of.
Course Duration:
One Day 0900 - 1700hrs
Course Level:
The course is intended for quantity surveyors, engineers, project,
site, commercial and business managers from all parts of the construction
industry including main contractors, subcontractors, plant hirers, clien
representatives and members of the professional team.
CPD Approval:
Recommended 6 Hours CPD.
Objectives:
- Appreciate the fundamentals of the Housing Grant, Construction
and Regeneration Act 1998 (HGCR) as they apply to adjudication.
- Have knowledge of the definition of a construction contract.
- Identify the procedure for preparation for adjudication.
- Understand the procedure for conducting an adjudication.
- Identify the principles of the adjudicator's decision.
- Have knowledge of the 'follow on' procedures.
