14 September 2006: Site Visit to Holmesdale Tunnel A site visit commencing at 4pm has been arranged to view the works being carried out by Costain/Mouchel Parkman to refurbish the Holmesdale Tunnel at J25 on the M25. The £60m scheme commenced in May and is anticipated to last for 18 months. The scheme involves 24/7 working to minimise disruption to the very heavy traffic flows on this section of the motorway and will upgrade the mechanical and electrical equipment installed in the tunnel as well as increasing the number of eastbound lanes through the tunnel. Numbers able to attend on the day are limited hence contact should be made via secretary Tim Brennan to reserve a place.
