Dublin

The region committee is arranging a number of presentations over the next six months on a range of topics, including piling technology, trenchless pipe installation, PI insurance and photogrammetry. A number of these will be jointly arranged and marketed with ICE Ireland. The Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) has also asked the region to present a seminar for final year students on the construction economics and management course. The region would like to thank Mike Sutton, past president of the ICES, for visiting Dublin on 29 September to present his seminar on expert witness evidence in criminal waste prosecutions. There were 15 attendees and the presentation was very well received.

5 November 2008: Leica Roadshow, Croke Park
There will be an ICES marketing stand at the forthcoming Leica Roadshow in Croke Park , Dublin . Gary Jones , ICES marketing and PR?manager, will be attending and assistance from committee members in staffing the stand would be welcomed.

Following successful presentations at last year's event, the ICES has again been invited to present two seminars at next year's CIVILEX exhibition in the RDS, Dublin on 24-25 March 2009.

4 November 2008: ICES upgrade workshop, Ramada Hotel, Belfast
* NEW DATE *
An ICES upgrade workshop is scheduled to take place in Belfast , exact time and venue to be confirmed. The workshop is designed to cover eligibility, application documents and the membership review documents, how to write up your documentation and interpret the competencies. The workshop will last for one hour, is free to attend and is designed to make applying to upgrade or applying direct for membership as simple and pain free as possible.

Note: Similar workshops are planned for ICES Ireland in Dublin, Cork and Limerick in 2008. Details will be notified in the next edition of CES.
