ICES joins ICEC
The Institution has become a member of the International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC). The application was accepted at the 6th biennial World Congress on Cost Engineering, Project Management and Quantity Surveying, held in Toronto, Canada, in July.
ICES was supported in its application by the Association of Cost Engineers UK and the Ghana Institution of Surveyors. Considerable time and effort had been spent preparing the application which was presented to the ICEC by Andrew Morley FInstCES, on behalf of ICES.
Founded in 1976, ICEC is a non-political and non-profit organisation which promotes cooperation between national and multinational cost engineering, quantity surveying and project management organisations worldwide. Comparable in standing to the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), it has a memorandum of understanding with FIG and has the same close links with the United Nations.
Becoming a member of the ICEC raises the international profile of ICES and its commercial management discipline to other member organisations throughout the world. Joining the ICEC now means that commercial management members of ICES have a global representation in the fields of cost engineering, quantity surveying and project management. Further details on ICEC are available at www.icoste.org
