Hydrographic Surveying

The measurement and portrayal of the earth's surface covered by water, including the provision of dynamic measurement of water and its movement.

The above definition is based upon those contained in The Establishment of the Profile and Definition of the Geodetic Surveying Profession to meet the requirements of the General Public and the Commission of the European Union published by the Comite de Liaison des Geometres-Experts Europeens in May 1996.
