Land Surveying

The measurement, definition and portraying, either digitally or graphically in the form of maps or plans, of the physical features of, and the structures on the earth's surface.

The above definition is based upon those contained in 'The Establishment of the Profilr and Definition of the Geodetic Surveying Profession to meet the requirements of the General Public and the Commission of the European Union' published by the Comite de Liaison des Geometres-Experts Europeens in May 1996.
